Paal kolukatai | South indian sweet | dessert | how to make delicious paal kolukatai



Paal kolukatai- I have learnt this recipe from my grand mother. She make most delicious paal kolukatai all the time.I asked her the recipe today finally i made it. It came out so well.She usually prepare this as evening snack.Remember dont over cook after adding thick coconut milk. Hope you guys try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you

Ingredients:

For making dough:

Rice flour - 1 cup
Water - 1 1/2 cup
Salt as required
Ghee - 2 Tbsp

For making paal kolukatai:

Thin coconut milk - 2 cup
Cardamon powder - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 to 3/4 cup or as per your taste
Salt - a pinch
Thick coconut milk - 1 cup
Rice flour - 3 tbsp
Water - a little

Instructions:

Take a wide bowl,add rice flour and water make it as a smooth batter without any lumps


Pour the batter to kadai,stir continuously in a medium untill get a smooth dough without any moisture


Switch off the flame,cover the lid for 5 mins
After 5 mins,add ghee and knead well with hand


Make it as a small size ball and keep it aside


Take a wide pan,add thin coconut milk let it allow to boil,Now add kolukatai one by one drop slowly so that heat dont drop


Cover with lid let it cook for 15 mins in a medium flame
Add cardamon powder,sugar,salt give a nice stir
Now in a small bowl,add rice flour and little water mix well without any lumps,pour into the paal kolukatai and mix wel


Again let it boil for 5 mins
Finally add thick coconut milk switch off the flame


Now its ready to serve
