I had already posted how to make pastry sheet in my previous recipe. Today i have tried pastry sheet with strawberry jam. Its quite different and simple recipe. I assure you all kids will love this recipe. Its quite well familiar in finland but they made homemade prunes jam instead of strawberry jam they usually do it in Christmas time. this is traditional recipe in finland during christmas they used to call it as joulutorttu- finnish prune tarts. So today i will show you how to make easy shapes using pastry sheet with strawberry jam. Try and share this recipe with family and friends. I will share step by step pictures and videos to cook easier


Puff pastry sheet - 4
Strawberry jam 
Egg - 1
Milk - 1 tsp

Diamond pastry:

preheat the oven to 250 deg c
Take a pastry sheet,cut them into medium square shape,make sure it is still cold when you do

Now take a first sheet grease them using egg wash on the corners

with a sharp knife,cut it like L shaped at the corners of each pastry square as shown in the picture
Make sure the cut do not touch
Take the bottom flap and fold it towards the top edge

place a 1 tsp of strawberry jam in the center and toppings(berries)
Repeat with the remaining pastries
Brush with egg wash
Bake for  15 to 20 mins or until golden brown

Pinwheel pastry

Preheat the oven to 250 deg c

Make 4 cuts on each square,with each cut starting from outside corners of the square and stop just short of the centre

Take one flaps and fold it towards the centre until you have created pinwheel shape
place a 1 tsp of strawberry jam in the center and toppings(berries)

Repeat with the remaining pastries
Brush with egg wash
Bake for  15 to 20 mins or until golden brown 


Sweet or savory pleasing dishes whenever inspiration strikes. It takes quite long time time to make this tiny thin layered puff pastry sheet. The only important thing for this recipe is butter always stay cool.Once you made this sheet you can make several varieties of desserts and english breakfast recipes. Maida dough:

Maida/all purpose flour - 2 cup
unsalted butter - 2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Unsalted butter - 400 g
Salt as required

Butter dough:

Butter - 400g
Maida - 1/2 cup
Salt as required
Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Keep the butter cold,the butter in puff pastry presents a bit of challenge,you want it to be cold so it stay solid and doesnt melt into the dough,so that it can be rolled out without breaking into pieces

Take a bowl grate 400g butter,add one cup of maida/all purpose flour,lemon juice,salt as required

Mix them well,make it as square shape and put it in a fridge for 15 mins

Another bowl,add 2 cup maida/all purpose flour,sugar,salt,2tsp of unsalted butter

Mix them well,make it as smooth and soft dough

Put in a fridge let it rest for 15 mins

Now take both the dough,firstly place the full maida dough roll it as a 1 cm thick sheet

Now place that butter dough in the centre cover the dough on four sides,Now let it rest for 15 mins in fridge

After 15 mins,roll them as a 1 cm thick sheet and folding it up again

One round of rolling out and folding up its so called turn

You have to do same process for about 6 times in total
Make sure always butter stays cool,refrigerate the dough for every 15 mins in every turns
If you think that butter is melting slightly thats a sign that the butter is warming up too much so you should refrigerate more frequently 
Some butter start to pop up so at that time just sprinkle some flour over it pat it with your finger and carry on doing the process
Now the pastry sheet is ready:-)


Usually i normally cook  lamb kulambu and lamb chukka for the past one year we really get bored to have a same style of recipes so i thought to make it quite mom suggest me to cook chettinad kulambu. This chettinad lamb/mutton kulambu is damn delicious with homemade spices. The meat is so tender,juicy and flavorful.It goes well with chapati,phulka,roti,naan,hot steamed rice. Just give this a try and let me know how it turned out


mutton/Lamb - 500g
Onion - 2 (medium size)
Tomato - 2 (medium size)
Ginger garlic paste - 2tbsp
Fennel seed - 11/2 tbsp
Cumin seed - 1 tbsp
Whole pepper - 1 tbsp
Red chilly - 7 nos
Cinnamon- 1/2 inch
Gloves - 3
Cardamon - 1
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Salt and oil as required

Wash and cut the muton/lamb 
Take a pan,add 1 tsp oil,fennel seed,cumin seed,red chilly,whole spices,whole pepper,grated coconut

Roast them well till them golden color

Transfer them to blender,Blend this as fine powder

Take a pressure cooker add some oil,once oil heats add onion

Saute well till it become translucent ,Add turmeric powder and saute well
Now add ginger garlic paste,saute well until raw smell go,Add tomatos and saute well untill it become mashy

Now add masala fine powder,mutton mix them well

Add 1 glass of water,check salt if needed

finally add curry leaves

Close the lid let it pressure cook for about 9 whistles in a medium flame for lamb,if its a mutton then pressure cook this about 4 to 5 whistles

After pressure release,open the lid add chopped coriander leaves

Ready to serve:-)


French toast recipe makes a delicious breakfast or brunch that everyone will like it. It is very very simple and easy one all you need is egg,milk,bread slices. Some people used to call this is as bombay toast,german toast,eggy bread. Gonna share step by step pic and video to cook easier


Bread slice - 3
Milk - 1/4 cup
Large eggs - 2
Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
Sugar - 2tsp
Salt a pinch
Vannila essence - 1tsp
Butter or oil

Take a bowl add egg and whisk them using fork

Add remaining ingredients all together (milk,sugar,cinnamon,salt,vanilla essence) and whisk them well

Take a pan grease some oil or butter once the pan gets heat

Soak the bread slices one by one in the egg mixture and toast them well

Cook in a medium flame 
Toast until it gets nice golden brown color

Here i have spread some honey,powdered sugar and fruits as topping,u can do what you like to do for topping
Ready to serve:-)


Today i have decided to posted here soft layered chapathi. How to make a perfect soft chapathi because it needs practice and now finally I learnt how to make soft layered chapathi,this step by step guideline will  make you a chapathi pro in no time.Try and share this recipe with your family and friends


Atta(wheat flour) - 2 cups+2 tsp
Sugar - 1tsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt to taste

Take a wide bowl,add water,salt,sugar,oil- 1tsp mix them well

Now add flour in small amount and mix it well,finally add all the flour,Knead them well using hand in countertop and make them as a soft dough

Now cover the dough using wet cloth,let it rest for about 30 mins
Make a medium size balls

Now dust the floor,take a ball spread them like a rectangular medium thin sheet

Take a knife and stripe them

Make a pleats and roll them as shown in the video

Now grease some oil over the top,rest it for about 10 mins

Do the same procedure for all the balls
After 10 mins,spread them like usual chapathi using roller

Take a pan,grease some oil,once pan gets heat

Cook a chapathi one by one in a medium flame,remember dont overcook the chapathi it may get hard
Soft layered chapathi is ready to serve:-)
