Chocolate cake - soft,spongy and delicious with a rich flavor combination coming from cocoa powder,vanilla essence,buttermilk.I prepared this cake on my hubbys bday he really liked it.It can be served for 10- 12 people.Try this recipe and let me know how it comes out for you
Ingredients:
For cake batter:
Maida / all purpose flour - 2 2/3 cup
cocoa powder - 3 tbsp
Baking soda - 1 ttsp
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
Eggs - 2
Vegetable oil - 1 cup
Vnilla extract - 2 tsp
Buttermilk - 1 cup
For Whipped cream:
Whipping cream - 1 cup
Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
For chocolate melting:
Chocolate - 1 cup

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease with butter two 8 inch round cake pans
Take a bowl sift together the all purpose flour,cocoa,salt,baking soda,baking powder
Another bowl,add butter and sugar use a electric beater to combine well later on add eggs,vannila essence,butter milk,vegetable oil until well combined
Pour the batter evenly to the baking pans.Bake about 30 mins
Let it cool down for 10 mins in a wire rack
For whipped cream,take a wide bowl add whipping cream beat well with electric beater until it gets soft peak,now add sugar and vanilla essence combine well
Assemble the cake,take a 1st cake layer add whipped cream evenly over the surface
Add the second layer of cake ,gradually spread the remaining frosting on top and sides of the cake,Now fridge it for about 10 mins
Take a parchment paper,cut it according to height and circumference of the baking pans,Pipe the cooled and melted chocolate in a criss cross design on the parchment paper once its done
Let it fridge it about 10 mins
After 10 mins,gently wrap it around the sides of the cake
If you feel its in room temperature its not peeling correctly then again fridge it with warped cake about 10 mins,Now its easy to peel it out
Decorate the cake with whipped cream and cherrys
The cake is ready to serve
